All planes full as visitors seek to leave Fiji

Hundreds of tourists are at Nadi International Airport hoping to secure a flight out of Fiji before more bad weather arrives.

A deep depression last week caused river and streams to burst their banks in lying areas, flooding several towns and cutting roads.

The MetService in Fiji predicts more heavy rain on Wednesday and Dana Hudson says trying to get out of Fiji has become very difficult.

She says she is currently on standby to Auckland, but is 10th on the standby list and all flights are full.

Revised official figures say three people died in the floods and four are listed as missing.
