The Police Commissioner in Fiji has resigned.
Commodore Esala Teleni says he believes he has made a significant contribution to the police force, however it is now time for him to consider further career opportunities.
Under the State Services Decree, the military ruler Frank Bainimarama has recommended the appointment of Joeli Baleilevuka as Acting Commissioner of Police until a suitable replacement is found.
Mr Baleilevuka will act in the role until further notice.
