Japanese carmaker Toyota is recalling one million more vehicles.

The company has been struggling with a series of problems in several models and has already recalled 10 million vehicles worldwide this year.

The latest recall, of the Matrix hatchback and Corolla sedan, was prompted by three accidents and one minor injury.

The cars could have problems with their engines stalling.

Toyota New Zealand says owners in this country are not affected by the latest recall.

The United States Federal Government has been investigating the latest problems since December.
