The US Senate plans to take a final vote on a $US827 billion economic stimulus package at noon on Tuesday.
Senators will vote on cutting off the debate on Monday evening. A compromise package was reached on Friday. Previously $US937 billion was under consideration.
The Senate plan is almost $US8 billion more than a $US820 billion bill passed by the House last month. House and Senate negotiators will try settle the difference afterwards.
President Barack Obama wants the final version by 16 February.
