A rare classic car abandoned in a garage in England for 50 years has sold at auction in Paris for 3.4 million euro.

The 1937 Bugatti 57S Atalante retained its original chassis, engine and body, and has a remarkably low mileage.

The car was first bought in 1937 by the racing enthusiast, Earl Howe.

Its last owner Newcastle doctor Harold Carr bought the car in 1955 but it lay unused for decades.
