The American pastor who's planning to burn copies of the Koran this weekend has reiterated he will not be deterred and says it's a way to stand up to terrorism.
Terry Jones and his 50-member church in Florida, the Dove World Outreach Centre, want to stage the event to mark the ninth anniversary of the attacks on New York and Washington on 11 September 2001.
The plan has sparked condemnation from Muslim countries, NATO and the top US commander in Afghanistan, General David Petraeus.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called it disgraceful and Attorney-General Eric Holder says it's "idiotic and dangerous".
Mr Jones acknowledges General Petraeus' concerns but claims to have been contacted by a special forces officer who told him US troops were supportive of his plan.
"So on 11 September," he says, "we shall continue with our planned event."
