Villagers in Papua New Guinea have burned three trucks belonging to two Australian companies working on a project to pipe liquefied natural gas from the southern highlands to Port Moresby for export.
The ABC reports the incident occurred at a quarry near Kikori in Gulf Province last Friday night.
The equipment belonged to a joint venture between Curtain Brothers and Clough, two Australian engineering and construction companies.
The joint venture is building infrastructure for the $A16 billion project.
Inspector Rouben Giusu says the villages feel they have been left out of the project.
Esso Highlands says nobody was hurt in the incident.
