Spanish rider Alberto Contador says he was the victim of food contamination.
He says he ate tainted meat brought in from Spain on the day of the failed test, which was performed during a rest on the Tour.
Contador, 27, is a three-time Tour de France winner.
The BBC reports he has been provisionally suspended by cycling's world governing body after his A and B samples tested positive.
The UCI says the test found an extremely small trace of clenbuterol, which can enhance performance.
