Indonesian police have shot dead five suspected Islamist militants and arrested four others in a raid on their hideout on Sumatra.
They say the five suspects were killed and a policeman injured in a gunbattle on an oil-palm plantation in a village in North Sumatra.
Police are hunting at least eight other suspects.
The suspects are believed to be linked to a group suspected of killing a police officer in a bank robbery in Medan city in August to raise funds for terrorist attacks.
They were also involved in an attack on a police station near Medan in which three police officers were killed.
