A former United States Marine has been committed to stand trial for the murder of a New Zealand nurse in Sydney.
Walter Ciaran Marsh, 49, is accused of stabbing Michelle Beets to death on the veranda of her Chatswood home in April of this year.
The ABC reports Mr Marsh worked with Ms Beets at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital.
A three-day committal hearing heard evidence from Mr Marsh's Vietnamese wife and her brother.
She told the court he confessed to her about killing Michelle Beets.
Her brother said he was used by Mr Marsh to practise throat slitting on several occasions.
The trial will begin in December.
