A Saudi prince has been convicted of murdering his servant at a hotel in London in what's been labelled a sadistic sexual attack.

Saud Abdulaziz bin Nasir al Saud, a grandson of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah through his mother, was accused of beating and strangling Bandar Abdulaziz, 32, to death on February 15.

The court was told al Saud, 34 had attacked Mr Abdulaziz many times before.

Al Saud, 34, had admitted manslaughter but denied murdering Mr Abdulaziz. He will be sentenced on Wednesday.

The ABC reports the defence claimed the pair were friends but the jury was told of a brutal master-servant relationship and were shown shocking video evidence of the prince assaulting his employee in the hotel lift just days earlier.
