Toyota is recalling another 1.5 million cars, mainly in Japan and the United States.

The world's largest car company has already recalled 10 million cars in the past year, mainly for unintended acceleration, the BBC reports.

Toyota says no accidents have been reported because of the faults but in all 1.5 million vehicles are affected, including the popular Crown and Avalon and several models from the Lexus range.

Half of the vehicles to be recalled are in North America and most of the rest are in Japan.

On some vehicles fluid could leak from the brake master cylinder, reducing stopping power.

On others, a plastic cap on the fuel pump could melt, making the car difficult to start or prone to stalling.

Some cars are affected by both problems.
