Undersea quake recorded

A magnitude 5.9 earthquake has occurred in the Fiji region, but there are no reports of damage.

The US Geological Survey says the undersea quake was at a depth of about 10km. It was centred about 190km southwest of Wallis and Futuna.

It occurred just after 4am local time on Thursday.

No tsunami warning has been issued.
