Passengers stranded after problems on Qantas plane

Some 260 Qantas passengers are stranded in San Francisco after electrical problems caused the cancellation of their flight to Sydney.

The auxiliary power unit failed in the Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

The ABC reports it is the fourth problem for the airline in just over four weeks.

A jet engine exploded over Indonesia in early November, passengers observed flames coming from an engine on a flight between Melbourne and Adelaide, and a London-bound flight was aborted after a loud noise was heard during taxi-ing in Sydney.
