The CIA's top agent in Pakistan has been forced to leave the country amid threats to his life.

The Islamabad station chief was identified in a lawsuit linking him to drone strikes.

The BBC reports coverage of the case led to his name appearing on placards during anti-US protests in the Pakistani capital and his life was threatened.

The United States has accelerated its campaign of drone attacks in Pakistan's tribal areas and is pressing Pakistan to do more against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
