G20 police tactics defended

A senior British police officer has defended the tactics used against protestors during the G20 summit in London earlier this month.

One man died and several groups accuse the police of being heavy handed.

Chief Police Officers Association president Ken Jones says the methods used avoided more aggressive techniques used elsewhere.

He says the British approach is proportionate and has delivered on many other occasions.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating three incidents at the G20 protests - including one against a man who later collapsed and died.
