6:08 am on 20 December 2010

Ten people remain stranded on the roof of a property at Gascoyne Junction 950km north of Perth as flooding continues in parts of Western Australia.

The ABC reports 20 people have already been airlifted from the roof.

Authorities are also expected to rescue six people stranded at Yalgoo, east of Geraldton.

Floodwaters around the coastal town of Carnarvon are continuing to rise despite the ease in the rain and 85 people spent the night at the town's evacuation centre.

The Gascoyne River has reached a record level of 7.7 metres in Carnarvon.
