Three teenagers in Queensland have been arrested after trying to use an inflatable mattress to ride floodwaters from Ipswich to Brisbane more than 30km away.

Police say they were caught jumping into the swollen Bremer River on Monday afternoon and trying to ride the current downstream to central Brisbane.

Police received 10 triple-0 calls reporting the teenagers, who made it 15km downstream on single bed blow-up air mattresses.

The ABC reports they were located about 500 metres south of the Warrego Highway bridge and were rescued from the river around 2:30pm (AEST).

Police are considering what charges could be laid.

Earlier, a teenage girl and her brother were rescued at Proston north-west of Brisbane when they were swept from the flooded Stuart River bridge.

The ABC reports people are continuing to ignore warnings to stay out of floodwaters.

More than 20 people have been rescued in the past few days.
