The personal doctor of Michael Jackson has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter over the singer's death in 2009.

Conrad Murray is to go on trial in California in March, the BBC reports.

Prosecutors say Dr Murray, who was treating Jackson, 50, for insomnia, gave him a lethal dose of a powerful anaesthetic and then failed to provide proper care.

Dr Murray told a Los Angeles court he is an innocent man.

The trial is set to begin on 28 March and is expected to last six weeks.
