A fresh autopsy on the body of a Bangladeshi girl who died after being publicly whipped has found she bled to death from multiple injuries.
Hena Begum, 14, had been accused of having an affair with a married man and was sentenced by a village court to 100 lashes.
The High Court ordered that her body be exhumed and taken to the capital Dhaka after a local autopsy recorded no injuries.
Deputy Attorney-General Altaf Hossain says the doctors who carried out the initial investigation have been summoned to explain their findings in the High Court, the BBC reports.
Police have opened a murder investigation.
