Rugby is now the third fastest-growing sport in the United States, according to a study on sports participation.
The study shows that new sports are beginning to carve out a greater share of the market, even though overall participation in mainstream team sports has declined.
Boosted by inclusion in the Olympic Games, with the sevens form of the game set to debut at Rio de Janeiro in 2016, rugby experienced growth of 8.7%.
