Striker Samuel Eto'o struck the opener on 10 minutes, while Lionel Messi sealed the win on 70 minutes.
The victory is Barcelona's third in Europe's premier club competition. Their previous successes were in 1992 and 2006.
Manchester United were looking to become the first club to successfully defend their European title.
