West Indies team bus stoned after Bangladesh win

7:00 am on 5 March 2011

A bus carrying the West Indies' cricket team was struck by stones thrown by Bangladesh fans after the World Cup co-hosts were heavily beaten in Dhaka on Friday.

Police say two windows of the bus were shattered as it was leaving the Sher-e-Bangla stadium after the match, but confirm that no player was injured.

The deputy commissioner of police in Dhaka, Imtiaz Ahmed, says the fans thought it was the Bangladeshi team bus.

The crowd had reacted angrily earlier after Bangladesh - all out for just 58 - were thrashed by nine wickets by the West Indies.
