Security forces in Yemen have opened fire on protesters in the capital Sanaa who have been demanding the removal of the president.

Police used live rounds, rubber bullets and tear gas to try to prevent people from joining thousands of demonstrators who have been camped out for several weeks.

Doctors said 10 people suffered bullet wounds, five of whom were seriously injured.
