The leader of Hizbollah, has acknowleged the organisation's defeat in a parliamentary election in Lebanon.
In a televised address Hassan Nasrallah said Hizbollah congratulates the winners, an anti-Syrian coalition.
The coalition won 71 of the 128 seats on Sunday, against 57 for the Hizbollah grouping.
Earlier, US President Barack Obama welcomed the result. He said Lebanon is now on the path to independence and stability.
Hizbollah has ties with Syria, which dominated Lebanon for three decades until 2005.
The organisation is listed as a terrorist group by the United States.
