Attack on NATO trucks

9:51 am on 2 April 2011

Three security guards have been killed in an attack at a NATO truck terminal in north-west Pakistan.

Ten oil tankers were damaged during the incident at the town of Landi Kotal in the Khyber tribal district on the Afghan border.

The BBC reports most supplies for foreign troops in Afghanistan pass through this area.

Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters frequently launch attacks there to disrupt supply chains.

In February, four people were killed after 12 tankers carrying fuel for NATO troops in Afghanistan were set on fire.
