Undersea quake off PNG

An undersea earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 has occurred off a remote part of Papua New Guinea.

The US Geological Survey said the epicentre was located 95km south-southeast of the town of Taron, New Ireland. It took place at a depth of 35km at 12.19am local time (2.19am NZT) on Wednesday.
