Large-scale anti-government protests in Iran appear to have fizzled out: whether it's because of a strict clampdown or the lack of firm leadership among the opposition is unclear.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said his re-election on 12 June was a victory for the Iranian people and a defeat for the country's enemies.
In remarks published by the official IRNA news agency, Mr Ahmadinejad said plots to topple the system had failed.
