Seventeen people have been killed and more than 150 injured in storms in southern China.
Driving rain, gales and hailstorms have caused havoc in Guangdong province and the cities of Foshan, Dongguan and Zhaoqing. Winds of up to 164km per hour were recorded.
The Xinhua news agency reported that about 2500 acres (1000 hectares) of crops were damaged.
Guangdong province is the manufacturing heartland of China.
The civil affairs ministry puts the cost of the damage at 96 million yuan ($US14.7 million).
