Dozens of large fires are burning out of control in Texas. Officials says the conditions are unprecedented and show no signs of abating soon.
The Forest Service says the fires cover about 700,000 acres.
Hundreds of people have been evacuated north of the town of San Angelo; three other communities are threatened.
Officials say 31 fires were being fought in East Texas and another 11 fires in West Texas.
The Forest Service says there have been 19 consecutive days of super-dry weather and low humidity.
CNN reports an arrest has been made in connection with one of the blazes.
