Three wounded in Texas school gun accident

Three schoolchildren have been wounded in Texas after a gun brought in by a six-year-old pupil went off accidentally in a cafeteria.

The gun discharged on Tuesday after falling from the boy's pocket and the three were wounded by fragments.

The BBC reports they were taken on stretchers from Ross Elementary School in Houston.

Police said the child who brought the gun was among the injured. The others are boy aged 6 and a five-year-old girl.

Police are investigating where the weapon came from.
