State television in Libya has shown footage of Muammar Gaddafi meeting and talking with what it said were eastern tribal leaders in a Tripoli hotel on Wednesday.
Colonel Gaddafi has not appeared in public since 30 April, when a NATO air strike on a house in the capital killed his youngest son and three of his grandchildren.
There was no date stamp on the footage and no independent confirmation that the meeting took place on Wednesday.
The BBC reports an increasing number of people are questioning if the Libyan leader was in fact injured, or worse, in the air strike.
