Strange new species discovered

Scientists say they have identified a new animal species - a leech with razor-sharp teeth.

The leech was found up the nose of a girl in a remote region of Peru and is on a top 10 list of strange new species intended to show how little humans know about life on Earth, the BBC reports.

The list also features a bacterium found deep beneath the ocean on the wreck of the Titanic which eats rust and, along with other micro-organisms, will one day consume the great ship.

Another species discovered is a spider that can span rivers with its web.

Researchers at Arizona State University in the United States believe as many as 10 million species are yet to be described.
