Egypt's ousted president Hosni Mubarak has been ordered to stand trial over the deaths of anti-government protesters.

Mr Mubarak is under detention at a hospital in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

He faces a range of charges including intentional murder, attempted killing, deliberate wasting of public funds and unlawfully making private financial gains.

His two sons, Alaa and Gamal, will also be tried.

Human rights groups say hundreds of people were killed during the anti-government protests.

Mr Mubarak was ousted on 11 February after mass demonstrations demanding he end his 30 years in power.
