Ferrari driver Felipe Massa is being kept under sedation in a hospital in Budapest following an accident during practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
He was struck on the head by a piece of flying debris during qualifying on Saturday and has undergone brain surgery.
Massa was brought out of an induced coma briefly when his family arrived at the hospital. Doctors say that while the indicators are reassuring, he remains in an "acute phase" of his treatment.
