US Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has released the first pictures of herself since she was shot in the head in January.
Ms Giffords, 41, was seriously injured during a shooting spree by a gunman in Tucson, Arizona, that killed six people on 8 January.
She is being treated at a clinic in Houston, Texas. Doctors say she has been recovering well.
Both pictures - which appear on her Facebook page - show Ms Giffords outdoors.
In one she is smiling at the camera, her hair trimmed short with the skin on the side of her head slightly discloured but with no clear sign of any scarring.
The accompanying text says both photographs were taken on 17 May, the day after the launch of the space shuttle Endeavour carrying her astronaut husband Mark Kelly.
