Another prison sentence for Iraqi deputy PM

3:05 pm on 3 August 2009

Former Iraqi deputy prime minister Tariq Aziz has been jailed for seven years by a court in Baghdad, for his involvement in the forced displacement of thousands of people, as part of a campaign against the Kurds in the 1980s.

It is the second prison sentence for Aziz, who was for many years the international face of Saddam Hussein's Iraq.
