Extension sought to airline grounding

12:10 pm on 7 July 2011

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority in Australia is seeking to extend the grounding of the Tiger Airways until 1 August.

The CASA has already suspended the budget airline's domestic services in Australia since 2 July, due to safety concerns.

The authority says it has not had enough time to complete its investigation and there's no way it will be finished with its inquiries by the end of the week.
