Gaza flotilla now down to one vessel

11:02 am on 7 July 2011

A French yacht with 12 people on board is now the only vessel from a flotilla of 10 ships still heading for the Gaza Strip after the others were prevented from leaving Greece.

Most of the 10 ships are stuck at ports in Greece after the Greek government imposed a blanket ban on the departure of any vessels destined for Gaza.

Another ship is being repaired at a Turkish port after its propeller was damaged in what activists claimed was ''sabotage'' by Israel.

Nine people died on 31 May last year when Israeli commandos stormed a flotilla trying to carry aid to Gaza.
