Prize for account of China famine

A book chronicling the famine that killed millions of Chinese under the rule of Mao Zedong has been awarded the BBC Samuel Johnson Award for Non-Fiction.

Accepting the prize for Mao's Great Famine, author Frank Dikotter said the victims of the famine were often ignored in China today.
