President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela says he will return to Cuba on Saturday to resume cancer treatment, including chemotherapy.
He returned to Venezuela on 4 July after spending three weeks in Cuba, where he had a cancerous tumour removed.
The BBC reports he has asked the National Assembly to authorise the trip, as required by the constitution.
Since his return home, Mr Chavez, 56, has cut his workload on doctor's orders.
