Details of the first Parliamentary elections to be held in Egypt since the overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak have been announced by a member of the ruling military council.
Elections for the lower and upper houses of parliament will be held in November and will take place over a month.
General Mamdouh Shaheen said in Cairo that exact dates will be announced by the military after 18 September.
Voters will cast ballots for both the lower and upper houses at the same time in 120 voting districts. A period of 15 days will separate one stage from the next, during which any re-run will be held.
The army has pledged to hand power back to civilians afterwards.
