Seven people died and 28 others were wounded in a stabbing incident in the Xinjiang region of China.
State media reported on Sunday that people in a crowd were attacked with knives.
A website operated by the regional government said one of the attackers was later killed on Saturday night in Kasghar city and another was detained.
The region has often been the scene of ethnic trouble between the Uighurs and the Han Chinese. Nearly 200 people were killed in riots two years ago.
