Lockerbie bomber now in emergency room

The Lockerbie bomber has been moved to an emergency room in a hospital in Libya.

Abdel Basset al-Megrahi was released from prison in Scotland last month because he has prostate cancer and does not have long to live.

Megrahi is the only person to have been convicted over the killing of 270 people in the bombing of a Pan Am passenger plane over the Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988.

Scotland freed him on compassionate grounds.

The decision was criticised by the United States and opposition parties in Britain.
