85 people killed by NATO - Libya

State television in Libya says dozens of civilians were killed in a NATO strike on a village about 150km east of Tripoli.

NATO says the alliance hit a target in Zlitan, but could not say if it was in the same location where Libyan state media report the casualties.

A government spokesman who took foreign reporters to the scene, said 85 people were killed when missiles struck farm compounds in the village of Majar.

The has government declared three days of mourning for the victims, according to state television.
