A stolen drawing by Rembrandt has been recovered in Calfornia.
The Judgement by the 17th-century Dutch master was found in a church near the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey. It was stolen from the hotel on Saturday night.
The LA Sheriff's Department says the picture was probably left because the publicity about its theft would have made it difficult to sell.
The pen-and-ink item was valued at $US250,000. It was drawn about 1655.
