A magnitude 6.4 earthquake has occurred off the coast of Venezuela.
The US Geological Survey says it occurred beneath the sea at about 3:47pm local time (2006 GMT) about 36km northeast of the port of Puerto Cabello, at a depth of 10km.
Witnesses say it was felt in the capital, Caracas, for several seconds. No damage has been reported.
