Foreign rock festival being held in Cuba

8:46 am on 21 September 2009

Rock bands from several countries are taking part in the biggest open air concert in Cuba since the revolution in 1959.

The BBC reports the event in Revolution Square, Havana, called Peace Without Borders, has angered anti-Communist Cuban exiles in the United States.

Organiser, Colombian singer Juanes, rejects criticism that the concert would be pandering to the Cuban government.

The concert is the largest to be held in Cuba since the revolution in 1959.

Fifteen bands from Cuba, other Latin American countries and Spain are taking part.
