Top police officer's home ransacked in Honiara

The home of the top police officer in the Solomon Island's been ransacked by a gang of thieves in Honiara.

Royal Solomon Police Force Commissioner Peter Marshall, of New Zealand says he and his wife barricaded their bedroom door with a wardrobe as 12 men burgled their house.

Ten men have since been arrested.

Laptops, cash and a digital camera were stolen, but Mr Marshall says most of this has been recovered.
