5:43 am on 6 October 2009

A suicide bomber dressed in military uniform has attacked the offices of the United Nations World Food Programme in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, killing five people.

Four of the dead are Pakistanis, the fifth is an Iraqi.

Correspondents say the Taliban is suspected.

The BBC reports there has been a series of recent attacks by the Taliban in revenge for the killing of their leader in a strike by a US drone in August.

Last week, at least 16 people died in two suicide car bomb attacks in north-western Pakistan.
